About the Ministry
Children are the church of today and tomorrow! We value developing intergenerational relationships throughout our ministries and take every opportunity to foster and nurture them. Kids at First Covenant know they are valued and loved. They learn that God loves them and hears their prayers. They, in turn, learn to love God and show His love to others.
Sunday mornings
Sunday mornings at First Covenant are a wonderful time for kids of all ages! Experienced, dedicated volunteers love working with children – teaching and showing them the love of Jesus. Intergenerational relationships develop and enrich the lives of students and teachers.
Sunday School
Babies and toddlers up to age 2 are lovingly cared for in our Nursery. The Nursery is
available for the entire morning (9 AM until the Worship Service concludes).
Preschool children, age 2-4, enjoy Bible stories, playtime, music and activities. Care
for this age group is available for the entire morning (9 AM until the Worship
Service concludes).
Kindergarten through 3rd Grade students meet from 9-10:15 AM. Bible stories,
music, and free time are included in their time together. This age group
participates in part of or the entire Worship Service.
4th through 6th Grade students meet from 9-10:15 AM. Students enjoy a Bible lesson, crafts, and music. This age group participates in part of or the
entire Worship Service.
Worship Service
We believe all ages should worship together. Kids, youth, and adults worship together for about half the worship service. Then kids in 1st-5th grade go to children’s church which we call Kingdom Kids during the sermon. We have Kingdom kids for Pre-K during the entire worship service. We have a nursery for babies through 2yrs.
Wednesday Nights
Kids love Wednesday Night at First Covenant! From 6:30 to 8:00 PM, kids are having fun and building relationships with Jesus, each other, and caring adult leaders! Preschool through 6th grade students enjoy age appropriate games, Bible lessons, and meaningful small group time together.
Children are divided by age/grade:
- Preschool (ages 3-4) – AWANA Cubbies
- Kindergarten – 2nd Grade – AWANA Sparks
- 3rd-6th Grade – Grow Kids
